WHO WE ARE

Welcome to Ribbon of Support

At Ribbon of Support, we believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and included regardless of their diagnosis, condition, or life circumstance.

Each ribbon symbolizes a unique diagnosis, condition, or journey, and behind every ribbon is a person who deserves support, love, and functionality.

At Ribbon of Support, we exist to build isolation-free spaces filled with genuine understanding. Every ribbon matters. Every condition deserves recognition. All of us need love, accessibility, and above all, to be heard.

Founded by Catherine Ashly Davis, a mother, caregiver, and advocate with firsthand experience navigating disability and chronic illness, this space was created to build connection and community. Through inclusive events, outreach, and awareness campaigns, we aim to break isolation, offer resources, and uplift individuals and families facing unique challenges. Every ribbon represents strength, unity, and the simple truth that no one should have to face life alone. We know their are disparity and challenges, at ribbon of Support, we acknsoldge the gap and want to assist in filling it where we can.

Our Inspiration

The Heart Behind the Ribbon: Our Inspiration & Legacy

Chrystina’s Story

Born with jaundice, Chrystina was held for observation at birth as our mother, Jean Williams Davis, was sent home. Upon returning, our mother was met with devastating news: Chrissy had suffered severe aspiration issues, was placed in the ICU, and had experienced oxygen deprivation to her brain.

That pivotal moment began a lifelong journey filled with profound challenges, multiple surgeries to repair early medical neglect, and incredible triumphs.

Growing up in a one-bedroom apartment in West Philadelphia, our mother gave us the bedroom while she slept on the couch. Three kids, one bedroom. Looking back now as parents ourselves, we wonder how she held everything together with such selflessness, tenacity, and grace. Through it all, our parents worked together to grow our family, blending our hearts and lives with the additions of Albert Nathaniel and Sarah Lily through their marriage.

A Foundation of Family, Advocacy & Resilience

Navigating Chrissy’s care meant facing constant battles, advocacy hurdles, financial hardships, tears, court battles, and hidden fears. Yet, our parents worked tirelessly to keep us all united, grounding us in faith, the power of prayer, and the unbreakable foundation of sticking together as a family.

  • Our Father, Albert Davis: A pillar of strength and fierce advocacy, our father fought tireless battles for our family, especially for Chrystina. Through his legacy, we learned to speak up, say the hard things, fight for the people we love, and challenge medical and social systems when they fall short.

  • Our Mother, Jean Williams Davis: An educator at heart, our mother taught us the power of representation, preparation, and educating yourself thoroughly in whatever you set your heart to accomplish. Her resilience and unwavering strength remain our guiding light.

Why Ribbon of Support Exists

We dedicate Ribbon of Support to the loved ones we have lost, to our family’s memories, and to every caregiver, individual, and family walking a similar path.

We don't just understand the struggles of navigating chronic illness, disability, and medical disparities, we lived it.

Ribbon of Support was born out of a desire to stand in the gap for those who feel they have no options, no advocacy, and no support. Each ribbon symbolizes a distinct journey, but together, they form a bridge of continuous love, community, and hope that never ends. No matter the color of the ribbon you carry, your story matters, your challenge is recognized, and you are never alone.

In Loving Memory

Rest in peace to Albert C. Davis, Albert N. Davis, and Chrystina E. Davis.

"May this organization stand as a pillar of light, love, and unwavering support to those who need it most. We carry your legacy in everything we do, and we love and miss you always."
